Boston Event

Boston is an anchor event, so national has asked for a high turnout. There will be drones and helicopters and Sky Art Team that will create signs visible from the sky.

Boston has quite a big budget deficit. Please consider a donation.

The event consists of activities at action tables so late arrival is OK. Millis plans to travel there immediately after the Millis event (noon) by carpooling to Riverside Green Line station, so we can be there by 1:30pm. Email millisdems@gmail.com to join the carpool.

If you would like to attend the entire Boston event, consider going to the 9:00am Medway standout before Boston and/or the 4:30pm Framingham event after Boston.

The Commuter rail leaves at 9:50AM from Framingham MBTA station and 10:01 from Norfolk MBTA station. Train ticket is $10 for a weekend pass: pay with the MBTA app or on board with cash or credit. Get off at Back Bay or South stations and walk (10 min) to Boston Common. Return schedules are Franklin Line and Framingham/Worcester Line. Parking is $4. Pay with the PayByPhone app or with an automatic invoice.

The Green line MBTA from Riverside takes 45 minutes to get to Boylston station in Boston. Pay with your phone mobile wallet (e.g. Apple/Google/Samsung Pay) or Charlie Ticket or Card.

Indivisible Mansfield is organizing a group to ride the train to the Boston event together. Learn more and sign up here.

Indivisible Video: Attendee Best Practices

Staying Peaceful and Safety

Foremost we must ensure everyone's safety. Events have a safety team and police awareness. Participants: stay peaceful even when provoked. We offer the following de-escalation guidelines:

  1. Address hecklers with a smile or kind word such as "bless your heart". We do not engage with them as escalation hurts our message that promotes peaceful dialogue.
  2. Respond to aggression by stepping back, disengaging, and letting marshals handle it.
  3. Leave the area immediately if there is danger. There will be another protest.

Sidewalk

At events, stay on the sidewalk or the permitted area. If on the sidewalk, ensure that you a) provide space behind for people to walk and b) do not block driveways into area businesses like gas stations.

Multiply Your Impact

  1. Bring a friend, even if not registered. Just come!!!!

  2. Attach American flags to your sign, doubling your statement;

  3. Go to local event and Boston.

  4. Encourage friends to find an event on nokings.org;

  5. Join the MNW Action Hub to be kept up to date on area events;

Wear Yellow

For generations, people around the world have used color to show collective strength in the face of oppression. Movements around the world have used yellow as a symbol of nonviolent resistance. Ours is no different: We align ourselves with this historic context while taking a step into our shared future. *Think of it as a shared symbol. It does not need to be an entire outfit. A bandana, a hat, a shirt -- any bright pop of yellow will work perfectly.*
